GCSE English Literature

What is GCSE English Literature?

This course enables the students to become acquainted with some of the major works of Literature from past and present time in the principal genres of drama, poetry and prose. They are required to develop their knowledge to as great a depth as possible, but this should be an enjoyable experience for every student and one which enriches their experience of life. Both personal and analytical responses have value in their answers. Coursework has now been replaced by a controlled assessment involving a timed supervised assignment based on student research in class and at home, as well as taught texts.
