Science GCSE

The course

The specification aims to improve scientific literacy – the knowledge and understanding which candidates need to engage, as informed citizens, with science based issues. The qualification uses contemporary, relevant contexts of interest to candidates, which are approached through a range of teaching and learning activities. GCSE Science is compulsory for students not taking one or more single science qualifications.

Students receive 3 hours of tuition per week. Regular homework and tests mean students consolidate their intellectual and study skills and receive essential exam practice.

How is the course assessed?
