Learning a language!
Have you tried Duolingo?
by Dr Elpida Christianaki, Head of MFL
Duolingo is a fun way of picking up another language. If you are interested in improving your French, German, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese, Duolingo is the fun application for you. You can access it via your computer, mobile or ipad. The App. helps you build your knowledge of your chosen language from a basic to a more advanced level. You hear the sentences read out loud to you in a slow speed by pressing the turtle icon on the screen or at normal speed by clicking on the megaphone so that you can improve your accent and this is only one of the many things you can do.
I had the chance to interview MPW Assistant Principal (MAB), about the Application.
EC: ‘Did you find Duolingo entertaining?’,
MAB: ‘Yes, it is good fun, bitesize, easy’.
EC: ‘How would you rate Duolingo on a scale from 1 to 5?’
EC: ‘‘Would you recommend this to the students and if yes, why?’”
MAB: “Yes for learning a language. Not in order to study for A level Spanish. … French and German are probably very good, but I have not tried them!’
