This course will focus upon Unit 3, sections A and B of the A2 syllabus.

Each 4-hour text session will be devoted to an analysis of the respective text’s key themes, of historical productions where relevant and of the processes of production. We will also focus upon examination technique.

The Friday sessions will be dedicated to establishing and understanding the respective practitioners’ theories and work. Students most commonly find the concepts of basic
staging a problem area in relation to the socio-historical concepts of the play. The sessions will also focus upon examination technique and exemplar material.
