One hour each day will be devoted to the various aspects of Spanish grammar which cause the most difficulty. These will include: place and agreement of adjectives; pronouns; prepositions; verb tenses; use of indicative and subjunctive; agreement of past participle. Students will be set exercises to prepare, paragraphs to write and sentences to translate in order to practise what they have studied. They will be tested each day on the previous day’s work. The remaining hours will be spent on boardspecific exam preparation as follows:

6SP01 - Spoken Expression and Response in Spanish
General conversation on relevant contemporary issues related to topics listed below, in order to develop exam techniques and specific vocabulary for Sections A and B responses.

6SP02 - Understanding and Written Response in Spanish

Tasks to test comprehension of authentic recorded material designed to elicit non-verbal and verbal responses in Spanish and in English.

Reading comprehension will be tested using authentic texts and a variety of exercises will develop this skill. These will include box-ticking, true or false exercises, gap filling and questions in both Spanish and English.

Questioning will be based on written accounts of real events or experiences based on written stimulus. Tasks will be structured to test the students’ ability to communicate accurately in Spanish using correct grammar and syntax.
