Autumn 2020 Resit Opportunity

Following the cancellation of GCSE and A level examinations, the government has introduced a new autumn resit option this year for students aiming to improve their grades, in addition to the traditional opportunity to retake in the summer sitting (2021) which remains open to students.

MPW will be supporting any of our current students wishing to utilise the autumn opportunity and will also have a range of options to support external students who aim to resit examinations through their current school or as an independent candidate.

MPW has a market leading record of preparing both internal and external students for public examinations, built on our expertise in renowned revision courses, usually held at Easter, or via full time study. Individual tuition via our experienced teachers, in person or via video conferencing, is also an ideal option this year for those wishing to undertake autumn examinations.

The one-year retake course, for both GCSE and A level, is a long standing and hugely successful set of programmes at MPW. This route provides sufficient time to cover the full curriculum, build on existing knowledge and cover in depth any particular gaps previously missed. The culmination of our preparation is to then focus on the key areas most likely to be examined and specific exam technique, regular practise and revision.

In this exceptional year, MPW will also provide a flexible approach to those students embarking on a full year course, but also wishing to keep open the opportunity to resit in the autumn sitting.

For students receiving their GCSEs this year, there will also be the opportunity at MPW for students to progress to A level study with us whilst preparing to retake a number of GCSE subjects in either the autumn or summer sitting.

Our recommendations and guidance to achieve a successful outcome will depend on desired grade improvements and individual circumstances. We strongly recommend that students and parents contact our colleges to discuss options with our academic team so that a tailored solution can be developed and a successful study plan agreed upon.
