The view from Boarding – Autumn 2024

Posted by: Various - 20 December 2024 - Boarding - Read time: 3 minutes

The Autumn term has been marked by an exciting array of activities and opportunities our boarders to discover new interests and passions. They have had the chance to expand their horizons, challenge themselves, and build skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom. Plus we rounded out the term with a glamourous Christmas Formal. Read on for some of our boarder’s personal highlights, and images from the Christmas Formal.

In their own words…

I ran my first ever half marathon at Battersea Park on 23rd of November while boarding at MPW London. Running 21.1km was one of the hardest things I have ever done but also extremely rewarding!

This term in MPW Boarding was very enjoyable. Beyond academics, the school promotes friendships within the community and has a great support system.

Thorpe Park was undoubtedly the best trip boarding had to offer this year. Being able to explore heights like never before on Hyperia was truly amazing. There is always something to look forward to.

The gingerbread house competition was really fun and it’s a nice way to start Christmas before the holidays. My friends and I also helped out at the agent event as tour guides to show them around boarding and answer any questions they had. We had a great time getting to know each agent and the event went very well. The agents even requested for us to participate in the treasure hunt with them after the tours.

I really enjoyed this term in boarding. We visited “Wicked” the musical, which was amazing. We spent great time together and enjoyed the music. Besides, we had various activities, like, socks-painting, hot chocolate night and quiz games. These activities helped boarders to know more about each other and make new friends!

I wanted to say thank you for the time you spent for us students, everything was always perfect, the food and the rooms were always clean. Thank you very much.

The first term was great, thank you for everything. The trips the school organized were very fun. The activities we did every Monday were also great.

As my visit comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my experience so far. The last three months have been an incredible journey, both academically and personally. The switch between living with the family to boarding life was a big change but I am grateful for the warm welcome and support I’ve received from the staff and all of the students here. What I’ve enjoyed most is the sense of community within boarding. Its comforting to feel like a part of a supportive ground. London as a city has been such an exciting place to explore during weekends and the boarding activities enhanced the experience. It felt like a family. Thank you for making my three months at MPW so special.
Ida
