GCSE Spanish
Knowledge of a second language is now generally recognised as an indispensable tool, whether for going on holiday or for work. Spanish at GCSE level provides students with the essentials of communication, enabling you to describe events and situations and convey your thoughts and feelings to a basic level and develop knowledge and understanding of Spanish grammar. The content of the course is essentially situation-based, preparing students for various interactive situations such as discussing home and school life, free time, local area, holidays and future career. By examining the four main language components of listening, reading, speaking and writing the course provides a sound foundation in language-learning for all students, whether intending to continue the subject to AS and/or A2 level or simply wishing to extend your skills base for future employment. What students often forget is that the study of a foreign language greatly enhances their understanding of English, broadens their vocabulary and leads to huge improvements in communication and presentation skills – all of which are crucial to success at A level, at university and in any future career.
