Mark Shingleton read International Business and French at the University of Westminster before obtaining a PGCE at the Institute of Education and an MA in Educational Leadership. He was Pastoral Director at Saint Charles Sixth Form College in London and Head of Sixth Form at Cokethorpe School in Oxfordshire before taking over as Principal of MPW Birmingham in 2009.
Adam Cross read Biological Sciences at Lancaster University and joined MPW in 2003 to teach Biology and Chemistry. He became Head of Science in 2005 and went on to complete a postgraduate degree in education before being appointed as Vice Principal in 2011. Adam has extensive experience in preparing students for entry onto competitive courses and is the current author of the MPW Getting into Dental School guide.
Ryan Moran read Business and Accountancy and took his PGCE at Birmingham City University. He joined MPW in 2013 and currently holds the positions of International Student Officer as well as Director of Student Enrichment.
James Bourne read Illustration at Plymouth University and joined MPW in 2006, becoming Head of GCSE in 2012. James continues to be involved in various community-based Art projects within the West Midlands. His work has been exhibited nationally including Somerset House and the Old Truman Brewery in London.
Director of Teaching & Learning
Martin Blyth read Business and Management at Aston University. He joined MPW in 2014, becoming Head of Faculty in 2015 and Director of Teaching and Learning in 2017. In addition to teaching Economics, Martin runs the college's EPQ programme.
Director of Learning Support
Bridget Hutchings read English and History at the University of Keele before completing her PGCE. She joined MPW in 2012 having held a number of senior positions within the independent school sector. Bridget is the author of MPW’s Getting into Pharmacy.
Director of Supplementary and University Applications
Emily Lucas read Medical Science at the University of Birmingham before joining MPW in 2013. Emily runs preadmissions text prep for students and is the author of MPW’s Getting into Law.
Sally Cooper read Business Studies at the University of Central England. Prior to joining MPW in 1997 she served with the Women’s Royal Naval Service and held senior administrative roles in several large companies.
