We have a wealth of expertise and knowledge of the university admissions system and provide comprehensive assistance to our students throughout their time at MPW. We have particular experience of preparing students for entry on to highly competitive courses such as Medicine, Dentistry and Law and provide bespoke guidance to students sitting pre-admissions tests such as UCAT, BMAT and LNAT.
The close links we maintain with universities and individual academic departments enable us to provide up-to-date guidance to our students concerning the application process for their chosen area of study. This allows students to make informed choices about where to apply and ultimately helps them to secure places on competitive courses at outstanding universities.
Our students start preparing for university entry as soon as they join the college. Students joining Year 12 undertake comprehensive research with their Personal Tutor to enable them to choose potential courses and universities. This research programme culminates with a series of events over a week-long period in the summer term which in turn starts the process of writing a personal statement and registering for UCAS online. During the final year, students liaise closely with their Personal Tutor to submit the application itself and to prepare for any interviews to which they are invited. For some degree courses, students often undergo several mock interviews at MPW, each with detailed feedback, to ensure that they have the best possible preparation.
