Meet the tutors delivering the UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at MPW London.

GREG IOANNOU

Head of Creative Arts Department
Course Leader for UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design

Greg graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece with a First-class BA (Hons) in Fine Art and went on to receive an MA in Painting from the University of the Arts London. He also studied Set and Stage Design for Theatre Performance at UAL and Technical Theatre at Athens School of Fine Arts. He was awarded the IKY scholarship twice, for both his BA and MA degrees. As a qualified teacher (PGCE) he has been teaching Art & Design, Architectural and Technical Drawing, Byzantine Art (Icons and Fresco) and Portfolio preparation at A level, GCSE, Foundation and University level.

He is a practising artist and a set and costume designer for theatre. His work has been exhibited in various galleries in Greece, Cyprus, Dubai and the UK and he has also worked with Cyprus Opera Organisation as a set and costume designer in various productions, including Henry Purcell’s Opera Dido and Aeneas. He was selected and sponsored by Swatch to exhibit his work in the XXVIII Cultural Olympiad Visual Arts exhibition in Athens.

KATE BRETT

Art Ceramics Tutor

Kate has a degree in 3D Design and an MA in Fine Art. She is a practising artist and is a part time tutor at MPW. She has a commercial product range and has supplied Liberty and the V&A to name but a few. Kate has recently been concentrating on a series of large art pieces and is currently represented by a London based gallery and a Dutch Gallery. She was Artist in Residence at St Georges Art School, Sydney.

LOUISE DE LA HAY

Senior Tutor in Creative Arts

Louise is a practising Artist and Senior Tutor in Creative Arts. She teaches Art and Design and Photography and runs the Life Drawing Course as well as at UAL for the International Summer School. She studied at Byam Shaw School of Art and exhibitions include, National Portrait Gallery BP Portrait Award, Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, Cadogan Contemporary, London Art Fair. She was selected for the International Symposium, Noja, Spain and The Delfina Trust Travel Award, Spain.

AMELIA MULLINS

Senior Tutor in Textile Design

Amelia is a practicing textile and mixed media artist. She studied Textiles Print for Fashion at Chelsea College of Art and Design and completed her MA in Textiles for Womenswear at the RCA. She has worked for high-end design companies and fashion labels, delivered lectures for UAL and written courses for UCA. A winner of many industry awards, her work has been published in renowned fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Style, as well as being displayed at The Bristol Museum and Art Gallery alongside Grayson Perry.
