At the end of a long first term, MPW London’s Prize Giving ceremony on the 8th December provided the perfect opportunity to reflect upon and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students.

The setting was the main hall at Queen’s Gate House, which was suitably transformed for the occasion. More commonly host to exams or sports, its usually functional appearance gave way to something far more glamourous! Red carpet, glittering backdrops and eye-catching centrepieces created the perfect backdrop for the evening.

As guests arrived and started to mingle, it was such a pleasure to see many former students and their families catching up with Directors of Studies and tutors. There was much talk of first term university experiences, reminisces about MPW and gap year adventures.

Once everyone had the opportunity to sample the champagne and canapes, it was down to the serious business of the evening. Our Principal, Sally Powell, began proceedings, introducing Massimo Della Ragione, our guest speaker. Mr Della Ragione is Professor of Practice in Investment Banking at Università Bocconi, having previously worked as Managing Director at JP Morgan in London and as a Board Member of Juventus Football Club. Drawing on his considerable experience, his inspiring words set the tone for the awards ceremony.

Behind each student walking up to the stage to receive their award, was a unique story of determination and commitment, which was acknowledged by the hearty applause (and occasional whoops!) of the audience. Congratulations to our amazing award winners, we wish you all the very best of luck in the next stage of your academic journeys. Our thanks also go to all the MPW staff who helped to make it such a special evening.
