Four MPW London students win CIFE Awards

Last month, four outstanding MPW London students were recognised for their academic achievements at the annual CIFE (Council for Independent Education) awards.

Seraphina W, Alex G, Eloise T and Ziyu L attended the prestigious event at the House of Lords to collect their awards. They were recognised by the judges in various categories, from the 21 independent sixth-form colleges that belong to CIFE.

The CIFE College Award

Seraphina won the CIFE College Award. She joined MPW London to study A levels in Economics, English Literature and History. She achieved grades A*A*A and scored a stunning 95% in English Literature. Seraphina was awarded a college prize for achievement in the Humanities and is a worthy CIFE College award winner.

Her enthusiasm and relentless questioning made for very memorable and entertaining lessons, and she achieved legendary status for her submission of extra assignments! Generous to her peers and mature in her approach, Seraphina’s prize is a recognition of how a great attitude and good humour can achieve excellent academic success. Seraphina is currently enjoying a gap year.

Science Award

Alex G joined MPW London from Wellington College to study A level Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Further Mathematics. Alex achieved 94% in Computer Science and his overall A level grades were A*A*A*A.  In addition to his CIFE Award, he was also awarded the MPW London Outstanding Achievement Prize. Alex is now reading Computing at Imperial College London.

Social Science Award

Eloise joined MPW London from Cheltenham Ladies’ College to study a two-year A level course in Biology, Business and Geography. At the end of Year 12, Eloise achieved the highest Cambridge International Geography AS level score in the world and, in Year 13, she gained A level grades A*A*A*. Eloise was also awarded the MPW London Principal’s Award and is now reading International Management at the University of Manchester.

GCSE Award

Ziyu joined MPW London from Gordonstoun School and took nine GCSE subjects over one year, achieving seven grade 9s and two grade 8s. In addition to his CIFE Award, Ziyu was also awarded the MPW London Award for best GCSE Performance and has now progressed into the sixth form and is studying A level Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
