Oscars 2026 – Boarding Ceremony Review

- 18 March 2026 - Boarding

Oscars 2026 set the boarders and the whole boarding house on fire!

The event was held in the QGH, and all the students were gathered to celebrate each other’s achievements.

The night began with the red carpet opening. All boarders could step onto the red carpet and feel like the most famous celebrities of all time, and have their photos taken by multiple photographers.

Afterwards, the ceremony started with a warm welcome speech from the Head of Boarding, Sabina Jardim, which was then followed by the awards themselves. These included awards for House points and the boarding principles of Tolerance, Resilience, Independence and Mutual Respect.

During the break, two of the boarders gave a musical performance, and then the Houseparent team was also presented with the awards from boarders, which included Exceptional Support, Outstanding Spirit and Team Encouragement.

After the final awards were given, Principal Dr Sally Powell thanked everyone for being a part of the boarding community and announced the House winner for the greatest number of House points. The Portman Polar Bears won!

The celebration was finished with the after-party, where students took lots of photos on the red carpet, had food and all danced together.
