Length of Course

8 hour sessions

9am to 6pm daily

This intensive course is designed to help students transform a collection of ideas and existing work into a polished, professional portfolio that stands out in a competitive application process.

Working in small groups with expert tutors, students will develop their work from initial ideas through to finished pieces, learning how to research, experiment, refine and present their work effectively. The course combines hands on studio time with group and one-to-one tutorials, critiques and individual portfolio reviews.

Students will learn how to:
• Select and develop their strongest work
• Research and develop ideas into more resolved outcomes
• Experiment with materials, techniques and processes
• Edit and sequence work effectively
• Present portfolio pages clearly and professionally
• Communicate the development and thinking behind their work

The course is suitable for students preparing portfolios for Art School, Architecture, Fashion and Design degree applications.

Bring Your Existing Work
Students are encouraged to bring any existing portfolio or project work, whether this consists of a few unfinished pieces or a more developed body of work.

Tutors will review existing material and help students identify what is working well, what could be developed further and which pieces have the greatest potential. Students will have the opportunity to refine and rework their strongest ideas during the course.

By the end of the course, students should have a more focused and professionally presented portfolio, alongside a clear understanding of how to continue developing it independently.
