On the evening of 12th March 2024, teachers and students of MPW locked horns in a riveting showdown of wit and intellect during MPW’s Quiz Night.

The library was transformed into a friendly but competitive “Battleground” as teams of teachers including our principal, Sally Powell and Vice Principal, Rachel Sherman and groups of students clashed over round after round of topics ranging from Music, History, Sports, Geography to general knowledge. Questions such as “identify famous women in honour of National Women’s Day”, and “name the fifth planet of the Solar System” were asked by the Quizmaster.

The teachers showcased their wealth of knowledge and experience, while the students brimming with enthusiasm, fought on gamely. With each successive round, friendships were forged and bonds strengthened in an atmosphere of tension mingled with cheerful camaraderie. In the end, the teachers emerged victorious; their collective wealth of knowledge and experience proved to be the winning formula. Each participant regardless of whether they won or lost, received a surprise gift such as an Amazon Gift Card, which was a lovely gesture of appreciation for everyone’s contributions.

The MPW Quiz Night concluded with a joyous feast featuring an array of pizzas to cater to every palate: vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, chicken and pepperoni, ensuring that everyone could indulge in a delicious gastronomical celebration. At the end of the day, what mattered was not who won or lost but the shared experience of learning and coming together as a community united by camaraderie and good sportsmanship that helped make MPW’s Quiz Night so memorable!
