Iretidayo - Nigeria

Iretidayo joined MPW from a UK boarding school for the one-year NCUK international Foundation Year. She won a place to study International Business, Finance and Economics at the University of Manchester.

I got good IGCSEs but really did not do well in my AS exams last year. I am glad that I came to MPW Birmingham and did the NCUK foundation programme. I was over the moon when I found out I will be going to study International Business, Finance and Economics at the University of Manchester this September. The teachers here at MPW are so enthusiastic about working with you and getting the best out of you. I can see my tutor whenever I like; his door is always open. The course is really focussed and targeted on what you want to study at university. If you know what you want to do at university, NCUK at MPW is the best decision you’ll ever make.

Iretidayo also won the NCUK IFY Top Performing Student Award (please visit NCUK website for more details)

Sari - Japan

I chose NCUK IFY because I want to go to a UK university next year. The course is busy but I have received lots of help in lessons. My personal tutor is so helpful and all the teachers here at MPW are very kind. They always take the time to answer my questions. I think the small class sizes are very beneficial to the students.

Sari has won a place to study Finance at the University of Manchester.

Takondwa - Malawi

The reason why I chose to study NCUK international foundation year is because it’s a well-known foundation course in the United Kingdom for international students. The academic and pastoral support at MPW is immaculate. I really enjoyed the course and I am excited to go to the University of Sheffield this September. Thank you MPW for the wonderful support.

Takondwa has secured a place at the University of Sheffield to read Business Management.

Parent comment

"I would like to vouch that MPW is a wonderful school. It recognizes that the kids who come to MPW are on discovery mode - thus crossing the age of 18 - where children view things differently and try to think that they can manage things/life in their own perspective. The boarding facilities offered, provide the security necessary for students to concentrate on academic studies and control their way of life. The students therefore, are cautious that somebody is looking after them and they are supposed to be responsible and excel in their studies. This is what a parent would look for in the first instance (security). The model for MPW of having a personal tutor for each student is magnificent. These tutors know the ability of their students and provide solutions to their needs academically. For Takondwa, his tutor Ryan was like his role model. His personal touch had a big impact for his success. He provoked his inner ability to do things and realize that he can pass because Takondwa lacked self belief at the beginning of the course. He left MPW with the zeal to work hard and he says MPW has unlocked his potential. He is going to college with full of confidence to accomplish his studies with high grades. On communication, MPW gave us all information on Takondwa's errands - especially school activities including those off the campus. This was important to those of us who are not living in UK. MPW is not well known to those living outside UK. For me, it was a privilege to know MPW and would not hesitate to recommend any person to bring his/her child to MPW. I certainly wish you and your staff all the best." - Loudon (Takondwa's father)
