Length of Course

5 full-day sessions

This course is for A level Year 13 students only. This course is not suitable for Year 12 students.

For Component 2 the course will not cover the optional ‘non-core political ideas’ where students choose from Anarchism, Ecologism, Feminism, Multiculturalism or Nationalism.

For Component 3 there are two options: Global Politics and US Politics. This course is only suitable for students studying the Global Politics. US Politics route will not be covered.

Component 2: UK Government

• The constitution
• Parliament
• Prime Minister and Executive
• Relationships between the branches

Component 3: Global Politics

• The State and Globalisation.
• Global Governance: Political and Economic.
• Global Governance: Human Rights and Environment
• Power and Developments.
• Regionalism and the EU.
• Comparative Theories. (12 markers)
