MPW London – GCSE & IGCSE

MPW London offers one year GCSE courses and two year GCSE courses in over 30 subjects at our college in South Kensington, with full-time courses over two years for students joining in Year 10, one year programmes for students transferring to us at Year 11, and programmes for students retaking GCSEs. View the GCSE and IGCSE courses that MPW offers.

Why GCSEs at MPW?

Students coming to MPW for GCSE courses enjoy very small classes in a co-education setting – there is an average of six students per class and absolute guarantee of fewer than 10. We also have an outstanding pastoral support system, providing our students with personalised attention at every stage of their GCSE journey.

As a GCSE pupil at MPW, you’ll feel that we’re less like a school than your old school, and we don’t have school uniform in our Colleges. Your programme will be structured for success – for example, if you’re under 16 at the beginning of the school year, we provide a much closer level of supervision in between lessons and you will have timetabled library sessions during which you can complete some of your homework. Within our wide enrichment programme, there is one compulsory and one optional Sport session per week and a compulsory study skills and PSHE programme.

Director of Studies

At GCSE the relationship between the student and the Director of Studies is a particularly important one. Students need access to someone with a detailed overview of their strengths and weaknesses and the demands placed upon them by their various subjects. Meetings take place fortnightly and every second meeting is followed up with a brief report to parents. A GCSE parents’ evening is held each January. In general, the Director of Studies is the main point of contact for parents and is always available to discuss any concerns.

Subject choice

With over 30 subjects on offer, we believe in providing you with a broad range of subjects, including compulsory subjects such as Maths and English and a wide choice of other courses.

"I have loved MPW. The class sizes are very small and it is easy to ask questions. The teaching is really interactive and they all care so much about the students. My Director of Studies helped a lot with my UCAS statement, suggesting what to include and perfecting it with me. I honestly don’t think I would have go any university offers without her help."

"I’ve had three fantastic years at MPW: I’ve had a happy time; I’ve met some amazing people; and, most importantly, I’ve left school knowing that I have fulfilled my potential, leaving with GCSE and A Level grades that I can be proud of. I feel that the teachers and Directors of Studies all care deeply about their students' futures and performance"

"All of my teachers have been great; they are experienced, friendly and treat us all like adults rather than teenagers. I’ve also enjoyed being in a city. There is so much to do and we’ve been on a lot of theatre trips after school which is something I hadn’t been able to do before. My favourite thing about MPW has been the people I have met."
