Ellen Jinlin Fang
To be a gifted and talented student would appear to be an obvious requirement for any student of the creative arts. However achieving success in three technically demanding A levels requires a special calibre of pupil. In 2017 Jinlin Fang or Ellen as we all know her, emerged as one of our most original and talented art and design students, displaying a self-possessed determination and engaging character. Undoubtedly, everyone who taught Ellen found the experience rewarding.
Ellen has attended MPW as an international student for the past two years and it has been gratifying to see her confidence and ability develop and strengthen in all areas. Ellen has undertaken three endorsements within the department (Art, Ceramics and Photography) to a consistently high standard. She has also attended the portfolio preparation course and gained a first choice application place within the University of the Arts at the prestigious Central St Martins College. Ellen’s flair, enthusiasm and overall temperament, have set her apart from her peers and this undoubtedly led to her deserved nomination for the Art Prize in 2017. Showing natural ability is one attribute but Ellen’s consistent hard work and passion across all of her courses here is a quality, which will no doubt continue into her future education and subsequent career. We wish her every success in her studies after leaving MPW.
