Each year we feature an Art department student, or a student’s work, which places them in the category of Gifted and Talented. In 2013 Oliver Bradford emerged as the most original and talented student and one who throughout his education here displayed a determination to fulfil his potential.
Oliver Bradford has attended MPW for the past two years and has responded to the demands of the A-level syllabus with confidence and ability. Oliver studied two subjects within the department (Graphic Communication and Photography) to a consistently high standard. He has also attended the portfolio preparation course and gained a first-choice application place within the University of the Arts at the London College of Communication. Oliver’s creative ability is displayed in the ambition of the final pieces in his projects and the rich imaginative creativity of his sketchbook work in both content and presentation; taken together, these factors undoubtedly led to his deserved nomination for the Art Prize 2013. In his approach to both subjects he has displayed skill and maturity, showing the range and depth of his abilities. His sketchbooks display a combination of a wide-ranging imagination with an ability to self-evaluate and a meticulous attention to detail. Oliver has made a terrific contribution to the Art department and we, in turn, wish him every success in his future studies and career.
