Annual CIFE Football Tournament, St George's Park
On Friday 13th April 2018, the annual CIFE Football Tournament was held at St Georges Park, Burton. St George’s Park is the English Football Association's national football centre that boasts world-class pitches and facilities. The tournament provides the different CIFE colleges with an opportunity to compete with each other on a competitive level in a tournament that is organised to the highest standard. This year’s tournament was full of quality throughout with Brooke House College Football Academy bringing a touch of magic to the tournament. After some gruelling group matches which saw MPW Birmingham with the second highest tally of points, the semi-final fixtures were set. Brooke House defeated Ashbourne College and MPW Birmingham defeated Collingham College. In the final, Brooke House Football Academy were too strong for the MPW Birmingham team. However, our boys can hold their heads high with exceptional performances throughout the tournament from all of the team. Special mentions go to the MPW Birmingham Player of the Tournament Connor Gregory, Top Goal Scorer Jonty Schofield and the goalkeeper Dike-Omeme who made some exceptional saves throughout the tournament, only conceding to the champions Brooke House.
