MPW Birmingham 5 v 1 Cambridge Centre for Sixth Form Studies
MPW Birmingham continued with their to date impressive unbeaten football season with a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Cambridge Centre for Sixth Form Studies. The game was played in an exceptional spirit with fantastic sportsmanship shown by both teams. MPW dominated the game from the start and two early goals from Alex Trigg gave MPW a comfortable lead on which they continued to build. To CCSS’s credit they managed to keep MPW at bay for the remainder of the first half and game close to scoring but were denied by the exceptional defending of Amar Rai and Paul Manzie.
During the second half MPW continued to play exceptional football and furthered the lead with a sensational long range effort from Hamza Ahmed. It was soon 4.0 with some fine individual play from Shaun Wheatley who caused CCSS problems throughout the match with his quick feet and skill. With ten minutes remaining, Alex Trigg polished off his fine performance by completing his third hat-trick of the season. CCSS did manage to score a consolation goal and they deserve to be commended for their determination. We hope our current form continues in the upcoming fixtures against: Bath Academy; MPW Cambridge and Bosworth Independent College.
