A level Results Day 2018

A Level Results 2018 Article 5 9 18

The atmosphere across MPW Cambridge on A level results day was one of excitement, happiness and pride. While students were able to access their results via email, many of our students chose to come to college on this important day.  Some came alone, others arrived with family members and friends, happy to pose for photographs, clutching their results sheets. When they were not in front of the camera they were sharing their success with both their fellow students and the MPW staff, including their Personal Tutors who had supported them throughout their journey at MPW Cambridge.

Speaking of a Personal Tutor, one of our students said: “Without your great efforts to monitor and support, I would not have achieved this brilliant outcome. Therefore, I would like to thank you for all the things you have done and I would like to wish you all the best in the future in everything you do!”

Similar comments praising the small class sizes and showing gratitude for the weekly exams resonated throughout the college which was filled with smiles and laughter as well as an air of anticipation as to what the future might hold while congratulatory words and thank you cards were exchanged. It was a day of celebration with most of our A level entries being awarded A*-B grades and almost a third of them scoring A*-A grades.

These results signal the beginning of bright futures for our class of 2018 and there was no mistaking the excitement in the voices of our students as they chatted about their plans for the future. As many discussed their preparations for university life, others explained that they had decided to gain new experiences before continuing with their studies at university. One student described how much he was looking forward to  gaining invaluable experience within a global engineering firm before commencing an engineering degree, another explained his aspirational plans to buddy up with friends to run a radio station for a year. Those embarking upon their university lives, the majority at Russell Group universities, spoke about their chosen courses which include Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Law, Biological Sciences, Politics and Psychology. Seeing so many of our students together on this wonderful day talking about their varied choices demonstrated without question their individuality as young adults as well as the diversity in their approach to achieving successful and happy futures.

However, our leaving students, and staff, are still looking forward to one final MPW Cambridge event before they go on to pursue their chosen pathways. This event is our annual Celebration of Achievement evening on 12th December and we are very much looking forward to continuing the celebrations of A level results day by showing our students how  proud we are of them on this special night.

A level results day is a joyous occasion every year at MPW Cambridge and we are looking forward to celebrating more success next year. Whether students are considering an A level education for the first time or whether they feel their current grades are not quite as good as they had hoped, we can develop a personalised combination of course structures to suit them and to help them achieve. From one year A level courses, to two year courses and even short courses from January to June, we will be able to work together to formulate a plan that will work for them.

If MPW Cambridge’s uniqueness appeals to you, we would love to hear from you. Call us to make an appointment with a member of our senior management team who will take the time to discuss your requirements with you in detail and show you around our wonderful college. We will also be hosting our Autumn Open Day on Thursday 1st November, an ideal opportunity to see our students and staff working together in our daily environment. We look forward to welcoming you.
