Philosophy Of Religion Conference

Cambridge F15

On Monday 16th November, the A level Religious Studies students attended a Philosophy of Religion Conference at The Guild Hall Conference. They were lucky enough to hear the views of Dr Peter Vardy on the existence of God as a probability. His views were counter-balanced by Heythrop College’s Senior Lecturer in Philosophy, Dr. Stephen Law, a self-confessed atheist and Humanist.

The students experienced university style lectures but also had the opportunity to contribute to the debate “This house believes that God is the most probable explanation of the universe as we find it”.

The students were able to participate in this debate and we were pleased that Chad Frost Smith made valid contributions. All students received detailed lecture notes that will be beneficial to their examination answers.

A great event and we look forward to the Ethics Conference in February 2016.
