As part of our University Support Programme, our Year 12 students visited Aston University to gain an insight into what it would be like to study at a campus-based university. They kindly organised a careers day which started with an enormously entertaining and thought-provoking talk on the legal profession from Odette Hutchinson, who was recently awarded UK Law Teacher of the Year, and Kris Lines, who is the LLB Law programme director.
Each year our Year 12 students take part in a two week schedule that starts the process of preparing for university. Students attend workshops including How to Write an Outstanding Personal Statement, Broadening Your Appeal (Extended Project Qualification and voluntary work), Student Finance and a variety of careers talks focusing on vocations such as Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine.
Psychology students visited London Zoo, exploring reptile and insect enclosures as well as learning more about phobias and the physical therapies covered in the A level course. By the end of the day, and following group hypnosis, some were brave enough to hold a tarantula!
MPW London students did us proud at the 2018 awards, scooping 7 of the 20 national academic awards available.

The tournament provides the different CIFE colleges with an opportunity to compete with each other on a competitive level in a tournament that is organised to the highest standard.
At the end of last term, a small group of MPW students took part in MH:2K (Mental Health 2k). Led by Katie Lee and MH:2K coordinator Michelle Bennett, the group delivered a workshop to Year 11 students on the challenges young people have in maintaining good mental health.
