Year 10 organised a charity Bake Sale at Christmas to raise donations for three very worthy causes and to meet the requirements of the volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, which they are all working towards.
Each December, MPW’s Prize Giving evening is looked forward to by tutors and students alike as a fitting climax to the autumn term and this year’s event was no exception.
The UKMT Senior Maths Challenge, organised by the University of Leeds, is a competition aimed at the best student mathematicians in the country and is designed to test powers of reasoning and logic in a series of 25 mind bending puzzles.
As always, St Augustine’s Church was a very welcoming venue for our Carol Concert guests, with smiling students at the door greeting families and friends, twinkling warm fairy lights surrounding their seats and a large Christmas tree at the front.
In GCSE and A Level Art and Design students are required to visit galleries on a regular basis. One of the most interesting and eclectic collections of work in the Midlands is held at the New Art Gallery Walsall.

On Wednesday 13th December 2017 we are inviting students to come to college dressed in their pyjama's in support of the homeless in Birmingham.
Faris narrates his adventures at Somaliland, Saudi Arabia & Bangladesh. He writes that visiting Somaliland, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh have been both very intense and rewarding experiences. He has encountered horrific disasters, met amazing people and tried to assist aid workers thrown in the midst of the Somaliland’s hunger crisis and the Rohingya refugee disaster.

AS Drama students have been working to hone their acting skills this term and as part of their efforts, they performed extracts from Chekhov’s The Seagull for an audience in the theatre for the first time at the start of November. This gave the group an opportunity to put into practice the techniques they have been learning as well as becoming accustomed to being on stage and in front of an audience.
