The Prize Giving ceremony is one of the high points of the academic year at MPW where a number of prizes will be awarded in recognition of our students’ academic achievement. In addition, students with outstanding results will have the opportunity to attend the annual CIFE Awards Ceremony at the House of Lords.
Here are the articles reporting the remarkable achievements and tremendous success of our students.
2016 Prize Giving
One of the high points of the college year is the opportunity afforded by the prize giving to recognise the achievements of last year’s outstanding students. This year’s event was particularly impressive as the standard was so high that seven out of the 31 prize winners were also awarded with CIFE (Council for Independent Education) prizes for which there are only 20 nationwide.
2016 CIFE Awards at the House of Lords
On Thursday 7th April, the Council for Independent Further Education held their annual CIFE Award ceremony to celebrate the impressive academic achievements of students in each member college.
2015 Prize Giving
The annual prize-giving is the highlight of the college calendar and this year the outstanding academic achievements of last year’s students were honoured in a short ceremony in which, perhaps this year more than any other, the exceptional were the enemy of the merely excellent. Many of the recipients were also CIFE award winners.
2015 CIFE Prizes at the House of Lords
On Wednesday 18th March 2015, students from MPW were once again privileged to receive prizes awarded by The Council for Independent Education at the Prize Winners Ceremony at The House of Lords.
2014 Prize Giving
The shortening days and lengthening hours of darkness that mark the end of the Autumn Term are given welcome fillip by the annual Prize Giving evening, which gets the festive season off to a start with its spirit of celebration and is a reminder of students’ exam successes during the past year.
2014 CIFE Prizes at the House of Lords
On Wednesday 19th March, students from MPW were once again privileged to receive prizes awarded by The Council for Independent Education in the august surroundings of The House of Lords.
The prizes were awarded this year by Lord Lexden, Honorary President of CIFE. His predecessor, Baroness Perry, gave her name to a special prize, the Baroness Perry Award, which went to Alexia Wight for her outstanding achievements in all of her subjects.
2013 Prize Giving
MPW college awards a number of prizes in recognition of academic achievement. Last year’s prize winners include:
Bank of England Competition
Jointly awarded to:

2013 CIFE Prizes at the House of Lords
MPW students and selected members of staff were privileged to attend the annual Council for Independent Further Education (CIFE) Awards at the House of Lords on Monday 18th March. One of the highlights of the day is usually to have tea on the terrace overlooking the River Thames; sadly we were prevented from enjoying this outdoor treat on the day because of torrential rain, but the atmosphere and sense of occasion was in no way diminished.
