Keele University Field Trip
On Tuesday November 29th 2016, GCSE Science students spent the day exploring astronomy at Keele Univeristy. Students experienced a planetarium and an observatory as well as take a tour around the historic campus.
The day started with a breathtaking experience inside the university's planeterium where students expored the origin of the universe. Following this, they visited the university's Sustainability Hub to see a variety of experiments that brought to life the theories and formulaes of Isaac Newton. After lunch, it was time to view the sun through a number of telescopes at the university's Observatory. Specialist telescopes and filters allowed students to view the surface of the sun on what was a beautiful clear day. After lunch, students finished the day taking a tour around campus to see the different areas that make up a univeristy.
